Star Air is set to strengthen air connectivity within Gujarat with the launch of direct flights between Ahmedabad and Mundra in Kutch from August 17, 2026. The new service will connect Ahmedabad, Gujarat’s commercial hub, with Mundra, home to India’s largest private port and a major centre for logistics, exports and industrial activity.
The route is expected to particularly benefit business travellers, professionals and industries that depend on faster movement between Ahmedabad and the Kutch region. Until now, travel between the two centres has largely involved lengthy road journeys or indirect flight connections.
The airline, the aviation arm of the Sanjay Ghodawat Group, will operate the new service three times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. Flights will depart Ahmedabad in the early morning, with evening return services from Mundra, allowing passengers to make same-day business trips.
Star Air’s Chief Commercial & Marketing Officer, Shilpa Bhatia, said the new route would serve as a strategic link between two important economic centres, while improving travel convenience for businesses, entrepreneurs and communities.
The connectivity comes as Mundra continues to expand beyond its traditional port operations. The port has emerged as a major gateway for international cargo, while port-led industrial development has attracted investment and strengthened the region’s role in India’s logistics and export network.
For Ahmedabad, the route adds another connection to a rapidly developing economic region within the state. The city’s established base of manufacturing, finance, education, technology and entrepreneurship makes it an important source of business and professional traffic.
Beyond point-to-point travel, the Ahmedabad–Mundra connection could also support Gujarat’s broader economic ecosystem by reducing travel time for professionals, improving access to industrial centres and facilitating more efficient movement between the state’s commercial and logistics hubs.
Tickets for the new service are available through Star Air and leading travel platforms.
