Singapore-homeported Disney Adventure will begin selected four-night sailings with a Langkawi port call from December 31, giving guests the chance to combine Disney’s onboard experience with a destination in Southeast Asia.

For almost six months, Disney Cruise Line’s Disney Adventure has sailed from Singapore on itineraries dominated by days at sea. That changes from December 31, when selected four-night voyages will introduce a new element to the cruise: a stop at Langkawi, Malaysia.

The addition marks the first destination port call for Disney Cruise Line’s first Asia-based ship and gives travellers an opportunity to step ashore during a Disney Adventure sailing.

The Langkawi call is scheduled for day three of the four-night itinerary. According to Disney Cruise Line, guests can expect opportunities to experience the island’s natural landscapes, family-friendly activities, local crafts and cultural attractions, adding a shore-based dimension to a holiday that remains centred on the ship.

From cruise-to-nowhere to a Southeast Asian island

The development is significant for the Disney Adventure, which began its maiden voyage on March 10, 2026, after being positioned in Singapore as Disney Cruise Line’s first dedicated Asia deployment.

The ship is scheduled to remain homeported in Singapore for at least five years from 2026, operating three- and four-night cruises.

Until now, these itineraries have largely focused on the onboard Disney experience, with the ship itself serving as the principal attraction. The introduction of Langkawi changes that proposition without altering the four-night format.

Disney Cruise Line says the new port call is intended to give guests “more choice” while keeping the Disney Adventure experience at the heart of the holiday.

The move could also prove particularly relevant for repeat Disney cruisers. Rather than changing the core product, the addition of a new destination gives returning guests another reason to book a four-night sailing.

Why Langkawi works for Disney

For a family-focused cruise line, Langkawi offers a destination mix that fits naturally with the Disney proposition.

Located off Malaysia’s north-west coast, the island is known for its beaches, turquoise waters, limestone formations and rainforest landscapes. Travellers can explore the coastline, take part in water-based activities, go island-hopping or experience the island’s cultural and culinary heritage.

Langkawi also has a strong nature credentials. The archipelago was recognised as Southeast Asia’s first UNESCO Global Geopark in 2007, with geological formations dating back more than 550 million years.

That combination of nature, adventure, culture and family-friendly activities gives Disney Cruise Line plenty of room to develop shore experiences without competing with the ship’s entertainment offering.

Port Adventures add another layer

Disney Cruise Line will offer Port Adventures in Langkawi, with excursions operated by independent third-party providers.

The experiences are expected to span different interests and price points, allowing guests to choose how they spend their time ashore.

Langkawi Port Adventures will be available to view through Disney Cruise Line’s website from August 26 at 10pm. Guests will be able to make bookings through the website or the Disney Cruise Line Navigator App, as well as at the Port Adventures Counter onboard.

The cruise line already uses the model across its global network, with excursions ranging from guided city walks to adventure-oriented experiences.

The price of getting ashore

The new port call also comes with a higher fare.

A four-night Disney Adventure sailing without a port stop in January 2027 is priced from US$1,620 per person, while a comparable four-night sailing featuring Langkawi starts from US$1,915 per person, based on prices available on August 25.

The difference reflects additional port charges, taxes and other fees associated with docking at Langkawi.

For families comparing the two options, the premium therefore represents more than simply an additional destination. It provides access to a full day ashore while retaining the Disney Adventure’s onboard entertainment, themed spaces and family-focused experience.

More sailings on the horizon

Langkawi is not the only itinerary update announced by Disney Cruise Line.

The cruise line has also released new three- and four-night Disney Adventure itineraries running from September through December 2027, giving travellers more opportunities to plan an Asia cruise well into the following year.

The Disney Adventure is Disney Cruise Line’s eighth and largest ship, accommodating up to 6,700 passengers across 20 decks and seven themed areas.

With the introduction of Langkawi, Disney Cruise Line is effectively adding a new dimension to its Singapore cruise proposition: the ship remains the destination, but now there is a destination waiting outside it too.

For the rapidly developing Southeast Asian cruise market, that could make Disney Adventure’s short Singapore sailings considerably more attractive to both first-time cruisers and Disney fans looking for a reason to sail again.
