Dusit International Expands India Footprint with Signing of Dusit Princess Rishikesh in Uttarakhand

Press Release | June 9 ,2026

Thailand-based hospitality company Dusit International has announced plans to strengthen its India portfolio with the signing of a new hotel management agreement for Dusit Princess Rishikesh, an upscale mixed-use hospitality development in Uttarakhand’s Tehri Garhwal region.

Developed in partnership with Atmosphere, the project is expected to open in 2031 and marks another strategic step in Dusit’s long-term India expansion strategy, particularly in emerging leisure and wellness destinations.

Located near Rishikesh, one of India’s most prominent centres for spirituality, wellness and adventure tourism, the property is being positioned as a premium Himalayan retreat that blends hospitality, nature and wellness-led experiences.

300-Key Development Planned in the Himalayan Foothills

Planned amidst the Himalayan foothills, Dusit Princess Rishikesh will feature 300 keys comprising hotel rooms and luxury duplex villas. The development is designed to cater to both leisure and business travellers seeking immersive stays in a nature-driven environment.

The property will include an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge, business centre, outdoor swimming pool, fitness centre, yoga room and multipurpose event spaces. In addition, the project will house a dedicated clubhouse featuring wellness and recreational facilities such as a spa, infinity pool, bowling alley, mini-plex, squash court and indoor gaming areas.

According to the companies, the development has been planned to integrate with the natural surroundings while responding to the growing demand for wellness-focused and experiential travel within India.

Dusit Bets on India’s Wellness and Leisure Travel Growth

The signing comes as Dusit International continues to build momentum in the Indian market following the launch of dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla in December 2024.

Speaking on the development, Siradej Donavanik said India remains a strategic growth market for the company, driven by increasing demand across both metropolitan hubs and emerging leisure destinations.

He noted that destinations such as Rishikesh align strongly with evolving traveller preferences centred around wellness, spirituality and experience-led tourism, adding that Dusit intends to focus on markets with sustainable long-term growth potential.

Partnership Focuses on Luxury, Nature and Wellness

Sanchit Jain described the project as a destination-led hospitality development designed around luxury, wellness and nature.

He added that the partnership with Dusit International would help position the property as a premium retreat experience in Uttarakhand, catering to travellers looking for elevated stays in the Himalayas.

The signing also reflects the increasing interest among international hospitality brands in India’s wellness tourism segment, particularly in destinations that combine natural landscapes with experiential travel offerings.
