EgyptAir arranged a special charter flight to repatriate the England men’s national cricket team from India following their participation in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
The flight was organised at short notice in coordination with the International Cricket Council and the British High Commission, enabling the team to travel safely back to the United Kingdom amid regional airspace disruptions.
“It was an honour to arrange this flight at very short notice in coordination with the International Cricket Council and the British High Commission. Considering the current unrest situation, EgyptAir ensured seamless and safe travel using Egypt’s undisturbed airspace,” said Amr Aly, Country Manager – India, EgyptAir.
EgyptAir Highlights Operational Reliability
The special flight underscores EgyptAir’s operational capability to provide rapid-response aviation solutions during complex regional situations, leveraging Egypt’s stable airspace and the airline’s international connectivity.
The airline currently operates five weekly flights from Mumbai and four weekly flights from New Delhi to Cairo International Airport, with plans to gradually increase frequencies toward daily services.
From its hub in Cairo, EgyptAir connects passengers to more than 80 international destinations across Africa, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, supported by its membership in the Star Alliance.
Strengthening India–Egypt Connectivity
For the travel trade, EgyptAir’s expanding operations from India provide additional connectivity to Africa and Europe via Cairo, positioning the airline as a strategic option for both leisure and corporate travellers seeking alternative routing options across multiple regions.
The airline’s planned frequency expansion is also expected to enhance connectivity between India and Egypt while strengthening onward access to destinations across the airline’s global network.
