With StarDream Cruises, #UnPopularOpinion didn’t feel like content. It felt like a first — in many ways.
– For the first time, cruise liners openly acknowledged where the industry has gone wrong — from price wars to positioning — while also calling out travel agents for not evolving fast enough.
– For the first time, travel trade media wasn’t just an observer, but a voice at the table.
– And for the first time, we addressed the question everyone dances around —
are Indian travellers really “hated” globally, or is it just perception shaped by visibility?
And none of these conversations were new. They were simply… unsaid. And that’s the problem.
The #UnPopularOpinion Series started in the boardroom of StarDream Cruises India and concluded onboard the #GentingDream. The series may have ended. But it got the industry to listen, respond, and question — with media and cruise lines both showing up honestly. And that’s a metric you can’t measure.
Grateful to Naresh Rawal and Jiten Vasavda for saying yes to real conversations — the kind that don’t always “trend” but definitely matter more.
And to Isha Goyal, Dipti Adhia, Varsha Singh and Sheldon Santwan — for proving that collaboration over competition may sound like a quote, but when done right, it actually works!
