Switzerland’s iconic Grand Train Tour of Switzerland is marking its 10th anniversary in 2026, celebrating a decade of connecting travellers with the country’s most scenic rail routes, Alpine landscapes and cultural highlights.
Launched to bring together Switzerland’s major panoramic train experiences within a single itinerary, the Grand Train Tour has evolved into one of the country’s distinctive ways to explore beyond individual cities and regions. The journey combines panoramic rail routes with stops at lakeside towns, historic cities, Alpine villages and mountain passes, making the rail experience itself a central part of the holiday.
The tour brings together Switzerland’s diverse landscapes, ranging from snow-covered peaks and deep valleys to lakes, vineyards and palm-lined promenades. Travellers can experience famous mountain routes, explore historic towns and move between different cultural regions while travelling through the country’s extensive rail network.
Over the past decade, the product has also gained relevance among international travellers and the travel trade, particularly as demand grows for slower and more immersive ways of exploring destinations.
