Tourism New Zealand appoints Tishtar Parakh as India Country Manager

April 8, 2026 | Press Release

Tourism New Zealand has appointed Tishtar Parakh as Country Manager for India, reinforcing its focus on one of its key growth markets. Based in Mumbai, she will lead the organisation’s strategy to drive visitor demand while strengthening partnerships with the travel trade and industry stakeholders across the country.

In her new role, Parakh will be responsible for expanding Tourism New Zealand’s presence in India, with a strong emphasis on trade engagement, collaborative marketing and industry alignment to boost outbound travel to New Zealand.

She joins from VisitBritain, where she served as Travel Trade Lead, co-leading destination marketing initiatives across both trade and consumer segments. Her experience includes executing strategic campaigns, building partnerships and curating industry events aimed at increasing visitor arrivals and spend from the Indian market.

Tourism continues to play a vital role in New Zealand’s economy, ranking as the country’s second-largest export earner. India, in this context, represents a high-potential market, driven by rising outbound travel and evolving preferences for experiential and immersive journeys.

With Parakh at the helm in India, Tourism New Zealand is expected to deepen collaboration with travel partners and airlines, while positioning the destination to capture a larger share of Indian travellers seeking unique, nature-led and culturally rich experiences.
