Ethiopian Airlines

Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s largest carrier, has reinforced its commitment to the Indian market by launching direct passenger flights to Hyderabad. The inaugural service took off from Addis Ababa on June 16, 2025, marking Hyderabad as the airline’s fifth destination in India — joining Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad, and Chennai on its growing network.

The thrice-weekly service operates every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday from Addis Ababa (ET 682), with return flights from Hyderabad (ET 683) on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

In a statement at the launch ceremony at Addis Ababa Bole International Airport — attended by dignitaries, diplomats, and aviation leaders — Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, emphasised the strategic importance of the new route, “This new flight will play a pivotal role in strengthening trade and tourism ties between Africa and India.”

With over 50 weekly flights between India and Africa, Ethiopian Airlines has emerged as a key player in connecting the two fast-growing regions. The Hyderabad addition not only enhances connectivity but also offers travelers more choice and convenience across Africa, India, and beyond — reinforcing the airline’s mission to be a bridge between continents with dependable service and expansive reach.
